Location : Colorado Springs, CO – Schriever Space Force Base

Clearance Required : Active Secret Clearance (or higher)

Travel Required : Up to 10%

LaunchTech is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). In this role, you will manage project requirements, lead system integration efforts, and standardize engineering processes that drive performance across complex programs. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to strengthen systems governance, streamline design reviews, and ensure compliance with mission-critical standards.

What You’ll Do

As a Systems Engineer, you will :

Develop, manage, and maintain project requirements, ensuring traceability from stakeholder needs through design, implementation, and operations

Participate in and facilitate design reviews, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards

Support project closeout activities, including verification and validation, final documentation, as-built records, and lessons learned

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, configuration management analysts, and stakeholders to ensure systems integration

Contribute to the creation, revision, and maintenance of Systems Engineering (SE) governance documents, including the SEMP, SEP, and SE Handbook

Standardize processes for requirements management, design review, risk management, and verification and validation (V&V) across the enterprise

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure governance aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices

Support training and rollout of SE processes to other engineers and project teams

Work cross-functionally with project managers, engineering disciplines, operations, and executive leadership

Participate in enterprise SE working groups and process improvement initiatives

What You Bring

Basic Requirements :

Must have 4, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience

May be reduced with completion of advanced education

Must have 3, or more, years of experience in systems engineering or closely related engineering roles

Must have demonstrated experience with SE lifecycle processes, including requirements development, design reviews, verification and validation, and project closeouts

Must have a strong understanding of SE standards such as INCOSE SE Handbook or ISO / IEC / IEEE 15288

Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements :

Have experience supporting facilities or infrastructure projects

Have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture Engineering, or related technical field

Have experience developing or maintaining governance documents such as SEMP, SEP, or SE Handbook

Be familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices

Have experience coordinating with diverse technical and operational stakeholders

Have experience with metrics-driven process improvement

Compensation :

This position is expected to pay $100,000 – $129,000 annually , depending on experience, education, and certifications directly related to the position.
