Senior Mechanical Engineer / Designer

MK2 Engineers is looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role of Mechanical Engineer for our growing mechanical department. The successful candidate will be committed to results and have a strong sense of personal responsibility for company performance. The candidate will be able to maintain a high-level perspective coupled with a strong attention to detail.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the quality and quantity of mechanical engineering design products. They will work with other engineering staff to provide engineering solutions for our projects in various commercial, institutional, governmental, winery, school, and healthcare facilities.

MK2 Engineers is an established consulting engineering firm with 26 years of experience specializing in designing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical building systems. Its primary office is located in the Green Valley neighborhood of Fairfield, California. We pride ourselves on delivering client-centered MEP design services that meet the highest level of sustainability.

Requirements and Qualifications :

• 7+ years of mechanical system design experience in a US-based A / E firm or design-build contractor
• California PE license
• LEED AP or the ability to become accredited
• BSME degree from an accredited university
• Proficiency in California mechanical, plumbing, and fire codes, including Title 24 Energy Standards
• Knowledge of energy modeling software
• AutoCAD experience
• Fire sprinkler design is also a plus
• Expertise in HVAC energy modeling software
• Revit and AutoCAD MEP experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong organizational and people skills
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment
• Ability to work well within a team environment, especially under deadline situations

Workload and Schedule

The workload for this position requires at least 40 hours per week. MK2 Engineers supports a flexible work schedule, which can be negotiated with management.
