Job description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Manage and maintain router configurations across the network, including adherence to established change management processes for documentation and approval.Develop and implement gradual automation of network deployment and configuration processes.Maintain technical proficiency across all network infrastructure, including related hardware, software, and interconnected devices.Implement, update, and maintain firewall rules on applicable network devices.Collaborate with the security team to select and deploy security tools, policies, and procedures.Maintain accurate documentation of daily operations, including repairs, upgrades, configuration changes, alarm reporting, E-911 systems, and related records.Design, set up, configure and maintain complex switching/routing environments with a proficient understanding of dynamic routing protocols.Assist with installation, turn-up, testing, and certification of new equipment for network expansion, including network facilities, switches, routers, and core transport equipment.Support the selection and implementation of enterprise software; contribute to process flows that ensure system integration and eliminate manual cross-referencing.
Logically and physically separate network infrastructure between different business entities and/or segments to ensure data security, regulatory compliance, performance optimization, and operational independence.
Assist with FTTH network design and equipment implementation.
Establish and perform network connectivity to the new LTE/5G sites and new aggregation points of presence to support the backhaul requirements of the cellular network.
Coordinate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) on network performance related issues to ensure issues are being resolved in a timely manner.
Establish and perform IP subnet design & BGP design and provisioning.
Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation for network services.
Monitor system performance, resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.Participate in professional development activities to maintain current technical knowledge and industry awareness.Perform duties with an emphasis on operational efficiency, cost control, and revenue protection.Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
