Director I Engineering
Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 2015 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA 23230.
Work Hours : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm
The Director I Engineering is responsible for strategic oversight and delivery of application and system solutions for client group, business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.
How You Will Make An Impact :
- Plan, direct, and control several teams of resources and initiatives to accomplish the objectives and requirements defined by senior technology and product management across multiple teams.
- Interface with key Information Technology (IT) solution vendors; develop strategies and facilitate performance measurement plans to optimize vendor performance and outcomes.
- Scope project as needed based on business product expectations and available resources.
- Manage multiple systems or products of varying capital and level of responsibility and complexity.
- Lead the budget development process.
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.
- Identify and resolve hurdles for assigned area / group and deliver according to established deadlines.
- Direct multiple work functions / applications or major projects / programs with broad scope and strategic business impact.
- Establish business objectives and integrate operational plans.
- Engage with customers in order to understand new product as well as enhancements to existing products.
- Negotiate the resolution of intra-organizational issues in the balanced best interests of the business.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners.
- Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
- Develop Technology Plan and Forecast for an enterprise application, enterprise-wide tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity, and manage day to day operations for a major portion of a functional area or department.
- Work with IT Leadership and business to identify new products.
- This position supervises 5 or more subordinate employees in the roles of : Engineer Lead, Engineer III, System Analyst, Tech Program Manager, Engineer Senior.
