We are seeking a Quality Engineering Training Specialist to serve as a technical capability builder and training authority within repair and production operations. This role is responsible for developing technician skills, consistency, and confidence through hands-on training, mentorship, and structured learning, ensuring quality standards are understood, applied, and sustained at the point of execution.

Operating within Quality Engineering (Pillar 1), the Training Specialist partners closely with Quality Engineering leadership, technical SMEs, and shop leadership to strengthen onboarding, accelerate technician development, and reinforce disciplined repair and testing practices. This role plays a critical part in improving first-pass quality, reducing repeat failures, and building a sustainable pipeline of capable technical talent.

This position is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys teaching, coaching, and shaping how work is done while remaining closely connected to day-to-day operations.

· Support onboarding and ramp up of new hires by accelerating skill development and technical independence.

· Reinforce correct application of work instructions, test procedures, and quality standards at the bench level.

· Help technicians build diagnostic reasoning and disciplined repair habits, rather than relying on trial-and-error approaches.

Mentorship & Skill Progression

· Serve as a technical mentor and coach, providing structured guidance and real-time feedback.

· Support technician progression through defined skill levels by identifying gaps and development needs.

· Promote consistency, craftsmanship, and accountability through daily engagement with technicians.

· Contribute to technician engagement and retention by supporting professional growth and confidence.

Training Systems, Documentation & Standardization

· Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of training materials, work instructions, diagnostic guides, and job aids.

· Partner with Quality Engineering and technical SMEs to ensure training content reflects current standards and known failure modes.

· Identify recurring knowledge gaps and recommend updates to training, documentation, or standard work.

· Support adoption of standardized training approaches to improve consistency and predictability across operations.

Quality Support & Continuous Improvement

· Partner with Quality Engineering and Operations to support quality improvement initiatives tied to technician capability.

· Provide training input during corrective action development to ensure technical learnings are embedded and sustained.

· Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing rework, repeat failures, and quality escapes.

· Reinforce prevention-at-the-source thinking through training and coaching.

METRICS

· Technician skill progression (80% of technicians to Level 3 certification or higher)

· Reduction in rework, repeat failures, and training-related quality issues

· First-pass quality improvement tied to technician capability

· Effectiveness and adoption of training materials and standard work

· Technician engagement and retention indicators
