As the Senior Software Engineering Manager, you'll guide a high-performing team responsible for developing secure embedded software that will be reviewed and validated by the NSA. What You Will Do

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Engineering Team: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, from entry level to seasoned professionals. This includes hiring, staffing allocation, and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Grow Talent and Foster Job Satisfaction: Support team members in their professional development goals and career aspirations at Collins Aerospace. Provide constructive performance feedback regularly and collaborate with employees on growth areas.

Collaborate Across Functions: Engage with engineers, engineering leadership, program managers, and shared service organizations to ensure seamless integration of embedded cryptographic solutions. Foster strong networking relationships to support project success.

Champion Product Line Strategy and Development Best Practices: Drive the creation of software solutions that not only exceed our customer expectations but support product line solutions. Promote software development best practices throughout the software development life cycle.

Support Pursuit and Bidding Activities: Actively participate in pursuit activities, including bidding for new programs. Contribute technical expertise and strategic insights to strengthen proposals and secure new business opportunities.

Optimize Staffing and Program Management: Manage staffing levels across multiple programs to ensure alignment with project schedules and resource requirements. Utilize earned value management techniques to monitor and enhance program performance and profitability.

Ensure Compliance and Process Adherence: Uphold Collins' standards and procedures, ensuring all engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational effectiveness.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment

• Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management

• Experienced with embedded software development

• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
