Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for moving and setup of furniture and equipment in support of on and off campus functions.

This position requires working weekends, early mornings, and late evenings - mandatory overtime throughout the week and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Moves furniture and equipment including autoclaves, vent hoods, scientific research equipment, appliances, computers, electronic equipment, art objects and displays or other related items as directed.
• Assembles and installs modular office furniture as needed.
• Assists in relocating and organizing storage of related items / equipment in a safe and secure manner.
• Supports special events by assisting with setup, take-down, and storage.
• Distributes goods to and from salvage, storage, surplus, and central receiving.
• Drives and operates moving vehicle for the collection of equipment / furniture.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies or other equipment as needed.
• Assists with general custodian duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Disability - Employees can enroll in the Disability Insurance which provides income if a non-work related illness or injury prevents you from working.

FSAs - Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses.

Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
