Job Title : Information Systems Technician I – Entry Level Business Analysis
Division : Governance & Business Management

Location : 501 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL – Sangamon County
Salary : Range $5,213 to $9,993 monthly – commensurate with experience

Overview :
Supports both business analysis and general IT operations. Assists with documentation, data collection, and basic process analysis, while also providing technical support for software, hardware, and network systems. May participate in limited-scope projects, helps prepare training materials, and supports system installations and troubleshooting. Expected to develop foundational knowledge of IT systems and business analysis practices through hands-on experience and mentorship from senior staff.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists in preparing meeting materials and maintaining project documentation, including agendas, meeting notes and version control.
- Gathers data from stakeholders and systems and helps ensure accuracy and integrity across platforms.
- Uses tools like ServiceNow, SharePoint, and MS Office to support team activities, including setting up workflows, forms, and documenting business processes, system flows, and network diagrams.
- Engages in mentorship opportunities and shadows team members during meetings and workshops.
- Assists with software / hardware installations, troubleshooting, and provide basic support for applications and user training.
- Attends training sessions and vendor demos to stay current with IT tools and practices.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience :
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of one year of college, with coursework in the computer science field OR 1.5 years of technical systems and programming experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
