Job Title: BIM Designer
Job Description
This BIM Designer will play a crucial role in the BIM process by managing deliverables per the project schedule, budget, and scope. The role includes field liaison, model coordination, and working through BIM models for construction. The designer will coordinate with other parties involved in the construction process and assist in design, planning, and installation alongside field management. Ownership and accountability for these tasks are vital for the successful design, planning, coordination, and installation of commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Run advanced facility construction projects as a modeler for electrical projects.
- Assign tasks and self-perform when appropriate, while setting priorities.
- Monitor progress and ensure QA/QC of 3D modeling and 2D drawing deliverables in alignment with VC Standards.
- Interpret project schedules, budgets, deliverable requirements, and field requests for effective planning.
- Coordinate closely with the prefabrication department.
- Maintain clear communication with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers.
- Utilize Revit to produce shop drawings from 3D models and adhere to company standards.
- Download drawings and information from online sources, such as SharePoint and project websites.
- Prepare copies and assemble sets of documents for transmittal to other parties.
- Collaborate effectively with Virtual Construction and Prefab team members.
- Demonstrate a competent understanding of client policies and procedures.
- Translate verbal and general written direction into appropriate, working design documents.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of BIM 360, electrical drafting, and construction documents.
- Experience with Revit MEP and construction drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
