Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Tooling Specialist to manage, maintain, and optimize all tooling used in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will ensure tools are properly designed, maintained, and calibrated to support efficient production, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage and maintain all production tooling, fixtures, and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Inspect, measure, and test tools for wear, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for tooling and equipment.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, modify, or improve tooling for new and existing products.
Maintain accurate records of tooling inventory, maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure tooling operations comply with safety standards and company policies.
Train production staff on proper tool use, handling, and maintenance procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize tooling efficiency and reduce downtime.
Coordinate with vendors for tool repairs, replacements, or custom fabrication as needed.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Previous experience as a Tooling Specialist or in a manufacturing / tool maintenance role.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and power tools.
Knowledge of metalworking, machining, and fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance, calibration, and inventory management systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, ERP / MRP systems preferred).
