Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) Faculty position is a full-time, 12-month/220-day appointment responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student success within the ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Program. Faculty teach courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters using a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, online, distance learning, computer-aided, self-paced, and interdisciplinary approaches. Instruction may occur across RRCC campuses, primarily in Arvada, and may include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend schedules.

This role serves as an ARC-PA designated Principal Faculty position and actively contributes to the design, implementation, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of both didactic and clinical education components of the program in alignment with ARC-PA standards, institutional priorities, and community workforce needs. Responsibilities include curriculum development and evaluation, student advising and assessment, participation in admissions processes, implementation of retention strategies, integration of instructional technology, and documentation of curriculum updates and outcomes assessment activities.

Additional duties include maintaining office hours, participating in departmental and college governance, serving on committees, supporting college and community engagement activities, and collaborating with faculty on curriculum planning and program operations. Faculty may also perform administrative assignments and/or maintain a clinical practice load as identified in annual faculty assignments.

Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

• Ability to work from campus (primarily our Arvada campus with possible occasional hours at the Lakewood campus and in the community, such as outreach events, as needed).
• Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and typically underrepresented groups.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom where appropriate.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of instructional objectives and course development techniques.
• Skills with managing, preparing, and delivering courses in the classroom and in the field.
• Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedure

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in physician assistant studies, Ph.D., M.D., or D.O., or a Master’s degree in a health care related discipline
• PA certification: NCCPA or MD/DO current or previous Board Certification and license to practice medicine
• 4,000 paid professional work experience.
• Commitment to the mission and goals of the program.

Physical & Cognitive Demands


The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
• Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
• Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
• The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom and office equipment and supplies weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching experience with clinical anatomy, clinical medicine, and pathophysiology.
• Primary care clinical experience.
• Teaching experience in a PA program or medical school or demonstration of previous student mentoring or precepting.
• A Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution.

The compensation for this position is $101,651 to $121,981 commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 220 contract days. The projected start date for this position is September 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. Faculty may have the option to teach additional course overloads in accordance with college policies and procedures for additional compensation.
