With significant growth underway—including ongoing acquisitions—the company is establishing a shared services hub in Atlanta to scale finance and accounting operations in a collaborative, high-ownership environment.
Role Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a defined portfolio of customer accounts and drive timely, accurate collections activity. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the A/R Manager, this role ensures clean reconciliations, clear customer communication, and disciplined use of NetSuite for visibility and results.
You will lead collections cadence execution, support credit/dispute resolution, partner with Cash Applications, and collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve issues quickly—directly impacting DSO, cash flow, and customer experience.

What you’ll focus on most:
You’ll own a portfolio end-to-end: sending statements and dunning notices, making proactive weekly calls on 30+ day items, reconciling invoices/credits/payments, and maintaining meticulous documentation in NetSuite. You’ll prepare credit memo packages with complete backup, escalate complex disputes with clear summaries, review aging weekly across assigned branches, and be prepared to discuss top accounts and action plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio and maintain accurate reconciliations of invoices, payments, and credits.
• Execute the collections cadence in NetSuite (statements, invoices, and dunning) and place weekly calls on 30+ day past-due items.
• Record all outreach and outcomes in NetSuite; update customer records with new or relevant information.
• Prepare and submit complete credit memo packages; upon approval, issue credits and file documentation appropriately.
• Escalate complex or at-risk accounts with concise summaries and supporting documents.
• Run and review weekly aging reports for assigned branches; maintain detailed notes and be ready to discuss the top 25 accounts each week.
• Partner with Cash Applications to validate and process payments from collections efforts; send updated statements upon application.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve disputes and drive timely collections.

Key Requirements

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience with collections and cash applications (required).
• Proficiency with NetSuite and Salesforce (required); strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
• Experience in a services and/or multi-entity environment preferred; comfort operating amid high M&A growth is a plus.
• Working knowledge of aging analysis, dunning cadences, credit memo workflows, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication with effective customer negotiation skills.
• Problem-solving mindset, accountability, and a collaborative approach with cross-functional partners.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
