Position Summary & Key Areas of Ownership

A mixing operator sets up, operates, and tends machinery that blends or mixes materials like chemicals, food ingredients, or pigments. Key responsibilities include measuring and adding ingredients according to recipes, monitoring the mixing process, performing routine maintenance, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining detailed production records. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor industrial mixers, blenders and other equipment to combine and blend ingredients.
• Measure, weigh, add & blend ingredients accurately according to specific formulas and recipes.
• Perform routine maintenance, clean equipment and troubleshoot any issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed logs of production data, batch information and any deviations or issues.
• Adhering to all safety guidelines, GMPs, operating machinery safely and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Keep area clean and organized ensuring that all garbage is placed in the appropriate receptacle.
• Conducting Sanitation between changeovers and at the end of the week.
• Effectively communicate with production, QA, maintenance, and management staff. Coordinate with other production staff to ensure workflow and meet production schedules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Previous experience as a mixer operator or in a similar production or food manufacturing role is preferred.
• Familiarity with various mixing machines, mechanical equipment and basic computer proficiency.
• High level of accuracy in measuring, mixing and recording information.
• The ability to perform demanding physical duties, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math skills for measurements, calculations and maintaining specifications.
• Expected to learn GMP's, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Procedures and Quality at the Source testing and documentation for your assigned work area.
• High school diploma or (GED), on the job training is offered.
• Must be able to lift up to 55lbs. This position is in production and could involve any/all of the following physical work conditions for long periods of time throughout the shift:
