General Ledger Accountant

BWXT is currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant for its location in Lynchburg, VA. Onsite in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Your Day to Day as a General Ledger Accountant

  • Supports the maintenance and recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries for month-end close.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
  • Prepares timely financial reports, ad-hoc analyses, and insights for management.
  • Ensures data integrity and consistency through account reconciliations.
  • Ensures compliance with SOX controls and fulfill internal / external audit requests.
  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements.
  • Assists with OneStream reporting and analysis.
  • Assists with continuous improvement projects across multiple systems.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 years in a finance or accounting role.
  • Candidate must have experience with Excel, strong organizational & analytical skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience with multi-site accounting operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
  • Experience in SAP and OneStream

    • Pay : $76,000 - $119,000
