Job Description Summary
Manage proposal development, including budget and related pre-award activities for diverse sponsor portfolio. Manage post award activities including account setup, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections; identify incorrect transactions and take corrective action; reconcile, distribute internal reports. Meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise them on financial issues related to their portfolios. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance. Work with payroll coordinator to ensure faculty and staff are paid correctly Create, manage and track subcontracts in RIS / MTAs & follow-up through execution; generate PO, track and maintain subcontracts expenses; review / validate incoming invoices; enter receipts; reconcile subcontracts to ensure consistent spending; track outstanding accounts receivable and process for payment.
Grants Manager B : The Grants Manager B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. The Grants Manager B will work on the more complicated grants, including training grants and program projects with multiple sub-contracts. Moreover, it is expected that the Grants Manager B candidate will have greater grants management experience than the Grants Manager A candidate, such that s / he can make greater contributions, including engaging in financial analysis. The Grants Manager will report to the Administrative and Financial Officer within the Department of Hematology Oncology and has a dotted reporting line to the Department of Medicine.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Provide pre and post award research and financial administration support for individual investigators in the department
- Monitor grant expenditures for compliance and take or recommend corrective actions as needed. Work with payroll coordinators and purchasing and accounts payable to ensure appropriate expenses are allocated to grant funds
- Produce and distribute specialized research related financial reports for investigators. Meet monthly to review their funds and total research portfolio
- Advise faculty within department on university policies and procedures
- Manage post award activity for department to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner in accordance with university policy
- Provide liaison to across research departments
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff concerning electronic submission of grant activities
- Assist in preparation and submission of reports
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
