As a nationally recognized provider of behavioral health services, we treat patients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, behavioral changes related to medication management or substance abuse and other behavioral issues.

Through our inpatient behavioral services and intensive outpatient programs, Oceans Healthcare offers comprehensive behavioral and mental health services to help patients at every stage of the healing process. Our staff is committed to caring for patients and their families with dignity, honesty and compassion.

The Grants Administrator is responsible for developing and managing Oceans Healthcare's enterprise grant strategy to secure external funding that supports the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and growth initiatives. This position leads the identification, development, submission, and administration of federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities while ensuring compliance with all funding requirements.

In addition to grant development, this role serves as a strategic project leader responsible for coordinating funded initiatives across the organization, monitoring project performance, measuring outcomes, and evaluating return on investment. The Grants Administrator partners with operational leaders, clinical teams, finance, compliance, quality, and executive leadership to ensure grant-funded programs achieve measurable results and align with organizational priorities.

This position plays a critical role in expanding access to behavioral healthcare services through innovative funding opportunities while promoting operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute the organization's enterprise grant strategy in alignment with Oceans Healthcare's strategic plan.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate grant opportunities from federal, state, local, corporate, and private foundation sources.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grant opportunity pipeline and funding calendar.
  • Build relationships with grant-making organizations, governmental agencies, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize funding opportunities based on organizational impact and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting grant funding opportunities.
  • Lead the preparation, writing, editing, and submission of competitive grant applications.
  • Coordinate subject matter experts to develop compelling program narratives, budgets, implementation plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all grant applications are complete, accurate, and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Develop standardized grant writing templates and proposal processes to improve organizational efficiency; Maintain all supporting documentation required for grant submissions.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for all grant-funded initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance, operational outcomes, and clinical impact of funded programs.
  • Evaluate return on investment by measuring revenue generation, cost savings, patient outcomes, community impact, and strategic value.
  • Prepare executive dashboards and reports summarizing grant activity and organizational impact.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Finance, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, grant administration, project management, healthcare administration, or nonprofit management.
  • Demonstrated success securing competitive federal, state, or private grant funding.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience preparing executive reports and performance metrics.
  • Strong budget development and financial analysis experience.
  • Experience within behavioral health, hospital systems, healthcare services, or nonprofit healthcare organizations preferred.
  • Experience with HRSA, SAMHSA, CMS, HHS, DOJ, state behavioral health agencies, and private healthcare foundations preferred.

Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong grant writing and technical writing skills.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of grant regulations, reporting requirements, and funding compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Experience utilizing data visualization and reporting tools is preferred.

Work Environment:

Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Travel required, including via automobile, planes and/or trains, as required.
