This position is located at our Oasis Club and provides services to our Latino members. Bilingual skills are not required, but they are considered a plus.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Lead Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing lessons and activities that stimulate and expand the skills of students.
Additionally, the person who fills this position will work under the direction of the Club Director at the Oasis Great Futures Academy Boys & Girls Club, located at 3265 Deans Bridge Rd Augusta, GA 30906.
This role is bilingual preferred.
Hours : 2 : 30 PM to 6 : 30 PM
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
- Assist in developing techniques for tutoring at-risk students K-12 each afternoon at the center.
- Administer and use pre-assessment and on-going assessment tools to develop individual learning goals for each student.
- Ensure that program goals are met by creating activities that increase academic performance and are aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards.
- Create structure for and manage all children.
- Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans to the Program Coordinator.
- Provide additional tutoring in areas deemed necessary by the Program Coordinator.
- Work directly with the Program Coordinator to ensure all standards of operations are met.
- Provide frequent feedback and positive reinforcement to students.
- Foster strong relationships with parents / guardians and teachers.
- Communicate regularly with parents / guardians and teachers regarding student participation and progress.
- Maintain accurate student participation and attendance records.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Serve as a role model for students and other staff members in the program and under your direct supervision.
- Accompany students on field trips.
- Actively attend all necessary training.

Physical requirements include physical exertion such as lifting, stretching, and bending as well as sitting for prolonged periods of time. Nearly always indoors. May be exposed to sounds and distractions such as from office equipment, various meetings or gatherings taking place.
