Description
The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Educational Psychology is seeking a tenure track assistant professor in the area of AI and Health Care Access. The person hired in this position will lead research focused on using AI to address physical and mental health disparities and improve healthcare services for wide-ranging populations. The Department of Educational Psychology has robust graduate programs and is currently ranked #8 among Best Educational Psychology Programs by U.S. News & World Report. The department advances knowledge about the human experience at the intersection of education and psychology through research, teaching, and practice. The department provides an interdisciplinary and contemporary approach to learning and development and seeks to enhance the quality of the human experience through rigorous educational and psychological research, and effective translation of findings to policy and practice.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Quantitative Psychology, Biostatistics, or a closely related field earned by July 31, 2026.
- Potential for scholarly leadership (i.e., refereed publications, extramural funding) in the area of AI and health care access and teaching in area(s) of foundations of AI and health care, machine learning in clinical practice, ethics in AI and health care, natural language processing of health-related communications, and / or predictive analytics in health.
- High potential for securing extramural research funding.
- Experience or capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds and advance the College's mission.
