Primary Function of Position :
Facilitates and guides student learning in a flexible, individualized student-paced format in short term adult health courses as assigned and works with a team to coordinate all aspects of classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical instruction.

Essential Job Functions :
- Complies with the policies and procedures of the institution, department, and program.
- Exhibits behaviors and communication styles consistent with the Core Values and Goals of the institution.
- Facilitates instruction using individualized competency-based education materials that have been developed and approved.
- Provides instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in the classroom and skills laboratory.
- Manages and evaluates students in a clinical health facility as applicable to meet certification requirements.
- Assists in orienting adjunct instructors, if needed, to the instructor's role regarding instruction and evaluation of students.
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance and academic progress.
- Counsels students to support successful completion of class requirements; collaborates with Health Program Developer for appropriate intervention measures to ensure maximum student retention and program completion.
- Collaborates with staff from the Career Planning Center and the Education Enhancement Center to provide support services to students.
- Responsible to assist in creating a safe, effective learning environment for students by maintaining organization in the classroom and lab.
- Revises and maintains curriculum to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Maintains courses online via the Canvas learning management system.
- Maintains book resource inventory as well as classroom / lab supply inventory on an ongoing basis.
- Organizes and maintains a safe environment in the lab area including identification of equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Communicates regularly with Health Program Developer regarding program concerns.
- Assists in other flexible Health Options Classrooms as needed / scheduled.
- Maintains current AHA BLS CPR card, professional license and / or certification, and immunizations as required by clinical facilities.
- Participates in teacher in-service training, professional development, collaborative team meetings on curriculum, etc. at applicable.
- Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must hold a current Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license, or be willing to obtain one within the designated timeframe.
- At least 2-year experience in a healthcare setting - Preferred.
- Teaching experience - Preferred.
- Able to manage heavy workload and work outside of regular work schedule in order to accommodate special projects and departmental deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to consistently deliver superior customer service and work quality to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and direction
- Strong computer / technology skills.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft office components (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability and desire to maintain / manage an efficient, well organized office area.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment by prioritizing tasks and projects.
- Strong flexibility, time management, and organizational skills are a must.
- Anticipate needs, be resourceful and have ability to build strong employee partnerships within the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Working Conditions :
Steady physical activity is required during days of clinical rotations consisting of walking and standing. Strenuous physical activity is required intermittently when assisting in moving patients and / or equipment. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which standard precautions apply requiring the use of personal protective equipment that must be worn in these circumstances (Category I and II). Must be able to provide documented evidence of current vaccinations and / or tests as required. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
Organizational Relationship :
Full-time, exempt, personnel position reports directly to the Health Program Developer in the office of the Director of Health Sciences.
Contract Details :
Twelve-month contract subject to annual renewal. Working days and hours are Monday through Friday as assigned.

Francis Tuttle offers a comprehensive benefit package for full-time employment to include paid health and dental insurance, monthly supplemental benefit compensation of $465, employee leave plan with family friendly work calendar and 100% contribution into Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System. The district will match up to 2% of monthly, base salary with a 403b or 457 retirement plans (base salary does not include stipends or extra duty).
