About Acadia Pharmaceuticals

Acadia is committed to turning scientific promise into meaningful innovation that makes the difference for underserved neurological and rare disease communities around the world. Our commercial portfolio includes the first and only FDA-approved treatments for Parkinson's disease psychosis and Rett syndrome. We are developing the next wave of therapeutic advancements with a robust and diverse pipeline that includes mid- to late-stage programs in Alzheimer's disease psychosis and Lewy body dementia psychosis, along with earlier-stage programs that address other underserved patient needs. At Acadia, we're here to be their difference.

The Healthcare Marketing Intern will support the HCP marketing team in evaluating the effectiveness of our 2026 improvements to speaker-led educational programs. They will observe two to three live speaker programs to understand real world delivery, assess the quality of speaker program execution, and compare 2026 training feedback to results from 2025. The intern will also help develop and review materials for our new "case based learning program," a more interactive type of program that will launch late summer. Their work will inform how well the expanded program formats, presentation decks, and audience types are performing and will strengthen the overall strategy for the Speaker Bureau throughout the summer.

This role is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional pharmaceutical environment, offering exposure to cross-functional collaboration, business processes, and industry best practices.

Learn more about our internship program here.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Observe two to three live speaker programs (traveling with the hiring manager) to evaluate the quality of recently upgraded program elements, including delivery, audience engagement, and overall execution.
  • Review speaker training feedback from 2026 and compare it with feedback from 2025 to identify trends in speaker satisfaction and opportunities to improve future training.
  • Support the development of the new "case based learning program" by helping draft content, organize materials, and prepare a full submission for review by Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
  • Create a midsummer "pull through analysis," which evaluates how effectively programs lead to continued engagement, correct use of program materials, and follow up actions.
  • Provide a strategic assessment of summer speaker program activity based on observations, activity data, and feedback from colleagues. And compile these insights into clear summaries and presentations for the broader team.
  • Participates in team meetings, planning sessions, and strategic discussions to gain exposure to business operations and contribute insights where appropriate.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and alignment with company values in all interactions.
  • Completes a capstone project or final presentation summarizing internship contributions and key learnings
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Rising senior or recent graduate, preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret both quantitative data (numbers, survey results) and qualitative data (comments, observations).
  • Clear writing and strong presentation-building skills, especially in building PowerPoint slides.
  • Willingness to travel, attend programs, and capturing structured notes.
  • Interest in healthcare marketing and/or sales careers.
  • Ability to work independently, ask thoughtful questions, and incorporate feedback.
  • Prior internship, leadership experience, campus involvement, or project-based work preferred.
  • Interest in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.
