Job description

Technology Director For Mission Integration Systems

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Raytheon's Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. Focused on program execution, business growth and the highest level of customer satisfaction, the ASDS team provides customers with unmatched capabilities of detection and sensing, command and control, and air-to-air, air-to-surface, and surface-to-air munitions to accomplish air, space and missile defense missions. Strategic Sensors & Precision Strike, within ASDS, is our sub-strategic business unit focused on large terrestrial radars, precision munitions, and integrated command and control (C2) solutions.

The Raytheon Engineering Technology team is seeking a Technology Director (TD) for the Mission Integration Systems (MIS) Product Area. This position establishes the technical baseline, product roadmaps and technical investment strategy for multiple domestic and international pursuits. MIS products integrate disparate weapon systems using our C5I solutions at strategic, operational and tactical levels. This role requires collaboration across RTX, with commercial vendors, other defense contractors, and acquisition and operational customers to develop solutions.

This is an onsite role and can be located in Tewksbury, MA, Woburn, MA or Fullerton, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Mature technical baselines in support of multiple foreign and domestic captures. The technical baseline includes mission analysis, solution architecture and solution baselines.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to capture, program managers and SBUs and SSBU Technical Directors. The successful TD can quickly respond to capture manager requests in a dynamic environment.
  • Develop product roadmaps and identify technical needs that translate into Research and Development opportunities.
  • Provide technical content for internal and external engagements with stakeholders.
  • Lead teams in disparate locations utilizing a combination of direction and influence
  • Domestic and international travel is required. (Approximately 25% travel)

What You Will Learn

  • Mission Engineering, Operational Analysis, Enterprise Architecting and System Architecting
  • Technology roadmap development, product investment and R&D execution
  • US and International defense architectures across a broad set of mission areas
  • Capture leadership and transition to execution

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience developing Command, Control, Computer, Communication, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) systems.
  • Technical leadership experience over multi-disciplined teams contributing to development of Long Range Plans (LRP)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with international captures
  • Proposal experience including cost and technical volumes
  • System installation, integration, and test experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including executive presence
  • Ability to collaborate and negotiate solutions across product teams both internal and external

What We Offer

  • Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation
  • Relocation Eligibility Relocation assistance is available for this role
