Team up with us! As a specialized heavy haul driver, you will safely and efficiently transport oversized and overweight loads using complex multi-axle configurations (up to 11 axles), including jeeps and stingers. This role requires advanced driving expertise, a strong understanding of heavy haul regulations, and a commitment to operating specialized equipment in full compliance with company policies and all federal, state, and local laws.

Do you have what it takes?

What you'll do:

  • Operate heavy haul tractor-trailer combinations, including multi-axle configurations (up to 11 axles) with jeeps, boosters, and stingers; experience with RGN, lowboy, and hydraulic platform trailers required.
  • Safely transport oversize and overweight loads across local, regional, and long-haul routes in compliance with all FMCSA regulations, permits, and company standards.
  • Perform safe coupling and uncoupling of auxiliary axle components and ensure proper load securement in accordance with FMCSA and company requirements.
  • Verify weight distribution and axle spacing to meet permitted limitations and maintain compliance with bridge laws, clearance, and height/weight restrictions.
  • Conduct pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections; complete DVIRs and promptly report deficiencies or maintenance issues.
  • Follow assigned routes and permit requirements, adjusting as necessary for weather, road conditions, or restrictions.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, load planners, escort/pilot vehicles, and customers to ensure safe, compliant, and timely deliveries.
  • Monitor equipment condition and perform minor roadside adjustments or repairs; demonstrate mechanical aptitude in equipment setup and configuration.
  • Load and unload construction equipment as required.
  • Maintain electronic logs, receive dispatches, and provide load status updates using onboard technology.
  • Work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and multi-day assignments, in varying weather and road conditions.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, securing loads, and configuring equipment.
  • Maintain a clean driving record, uphold safety standards, communicate professionally with supervisors and customers, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

What you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED; minimum 3 years of heavy haul experience (multi-axle configurations preferred).
  • Valid Class A CDL, current DOT Medical Card (physical), and clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate tools, equipment, and heavy machinery, including loading and unloading construction equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions and exercise judgment in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and standard documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle routine variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions using sound judgment and common sense.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and successfully complete required assessments (e.g., Work Steps).
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on business and load requirements.

Why work with us?

  • We like to take care of business and have fun doing it!
  • We offer health, dental, vision, life, 401K and more as a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Don't you want to work with awesome people?
