About this Position :

Become a member of our winning team! We have an opportunity available as a Specialty Area Technicians in our Service Department at our Anchorage, Alaska Branch.

Hourly Range : $34.40-55.25 Per hour (Based on Skills & Experience)

Essential Duties :

• Diagnosing, repairing and reconditioning of heavy equipment components (including engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials and final drives).
• Disassemble, inspect, assemble, and test components including hydraulic test of transmissions and dynamometer testing of engines after rebuild.
• Experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment.
• Requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze and identify problem in order to make recommendations for eliminating the problem.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed :

• A high school degree (or equivalent) or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
• A valid driver's license will be required.

Forklift driving and operating equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, as examples.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
• This role requires the ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
• Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will be required.
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.

Experience

Required

• Incoming and outgoing inspections on our heavy rents fleet
• Inspecting, cleaning, prepping, and testing new cat machines for delivery to the customer
• Assembling, installing, and testing various cat and allied attachments
