Yard/Gate Operator
The Yard/Gate Operator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of trailers and chassis within the yard. Working primarily outdoors, the operator will assist in checking in trailers, coordinating their placement, and ensuring any damaged units are directed to the appropriate area for repair. Utilizing a straightforward app on an iPad, the operator will upload photos and SKUs to facilitate inventory management. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Check in trailers and coordinate their placement in the yard.
- Identify and direct damaged units to the appropriate repair area.
- Utilize an app to upload photos and SKUs for inventory management.
- Communicate effectively with yard personnel and outside vendors.
- Perform in-gate and out-gate moves using the gate app.
- Conduct ingate inspections to identify any damages or repairs required.
- Drive heavy lift and yard tractor to support yard operations.
- Assist in conducting FMCSA & BIT safety inspections (training provided).
- Operate a forklift, spending approximately 75% of the time on this task, though this may vary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
