Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to engage experienced wealth management and asset management professionals to improve AI systems' reasoning around portfolio construction, financial planning, and investment strategy. Contributors will apply their expertise in areas such as client advisory, asset allocation, alternative investments, estate planning, and fiduciary compliance to evaluate and enhance AI performance on wealth and asset management tasks. This is a project-based opportunity with potential for ongoing engagement depending on performance and project needs. Key Responsibilities - Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to portfolio recommendations, financial planning scenarios, investment research, and client communication - Create realistic scenarios based on wealth / asset management workflows — client discovery meetings, investment policy statements, rebalancing decisions, tax-loss harvesting, and estate planning strategies - Annotate, label, and validate data across wealth management use cases (e.g., risk profiling, retirement projections, alternative investment due diligence) - Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in areas such as fiduciary standards (Reg BI, Investment Advisers Act), tax implications, and suitability requirements - Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for financial advisory AI Ideal Qualifications - 3+ years of professional experience at an RIA, wirehouses, private bank, asset manager, or family office - Background in one or more areas such as : - Financial planning and client advisory - Portfolio management and asset allocation - Alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, real assets) - Trust and estate planning - Institutional asset management or fund operations - CFA, CFP, CAIA, or Series 65 / 66 a plus - Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate advisory workflows into structured evaluation tasks - Clear written communication and attention to detail Compensation Note This project is expected to begin on an effective hourly rate, but will transition to a model where experts are compensated based on throughput of quality work rather than a flat accruing hourly rate.
