Our client, a well established hedge fund, is seeking an experienced Funds Attorney to join its in-house legal and compliance team. This is a high-impact role for a funds attorney with strong regulatory instincts who wants meaningful ownership over fund legal and compliance matters within a sophisticated investment platform.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of post-JD experience with a strong foundation in private fund formation, ongoing fund support, and investment adviser regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal and compliance support across multiple hedge fund vehicles
  • Advise on the formation, structuring, offering, and operation of hedge funds and related investment products
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key fund documentation, including PPMs, LPAs, subscription agreements, and side letters
  • Review marketing and investor communications for r egulatory and advertising compliance
  • Support SEC registration , regulatory filings, and ongoing compliance programs under the Advisers Act
  • Partner closely with compliance, investor relations, and investment teams on capital raising and fund operations
  • Assist with transaction-related materials, including pitch decks, NDAs, and board or investor materials

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience at a reputable law firm or in-house investment management platform
  • Strong knowledge of hedge fund structures and U.S. investment adviser regulation
  • Experience with fund launches, ongoing fund maintenance, and regulatory compliance matters
  • Highly organized, commercial, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
