Job Title: Shop Helper (Trade School Grads)

Job Description

The role involve floating through the shop as a shop helper performing MIG/TIG welding, operating spot welders, and handling the punch press and press brake. The position also includes troubleshooting, grinding, metal finishing, crate building, and product fabrication as needed. Opportunities for training in welding and other duties are provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG/TIG welding on elevator casings.
• Operate spot welders as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot the punch press and press brake.
• Handle grinding and metal finishing tasks.
• Assist in building crates and fabricating products as needed.
• Receive training in welding and other shop duties.

Essential Skills

• Experience with grinding, shearing, punch press, welding, and spot welding.
• Ability to operate a press brake and punch press.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, welding, and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ year of sheet metal manufacturing experience.
• Open to candidates with no experience who have great attitudes and are eager to learn.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean and organized large fabrication shop that includes a brake press, turret/laser, welding stations, assembly, and painting. The company fabricates custom elevator cabs for clients nationwide, operating Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
