Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in emergency room settings is a hard stop requirement. - Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC. - Experience with charting system is required. Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in an emergency setting. The position will involve a patient ratio of 1:3 during shifts. Weekends are required, with six weekend shifts every six weeks. The nurse will float between shifts as necessary. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, triage, and administering treatments as required. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. The patient demographics include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 136 patients, with various patient diagnoses including stroke, chest pain, and trauma. Special procedures performed in the unit include comprehensive stroke care and STEMI treatment.
