Position Overview
The Homemaker provides day-to-day homemaking and supportive services to patients of Cascadia HomeHealth and Staffing LLC in their homes. The Homemaker works under the direction of a Supervisor and provides services in accordance with the patient’s Plan of Care, contributing to overall patient well-being and satisfaction.
Credentialing & Regulatory Requirements
For home health services, homemaking staff must meet agency and Washington State requirements for providing non-medical supportive services.
• Homemakers may be credentialed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC), Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR), or meet agency requirements for a personal care worker, as applicable to assigned duties
• Staff must meet background check, training, and competency requirements prior to assignment
• Credentialing and eligibility are maintained in compliance with applicable Washington State regulations
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and supportive home environment
Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as appropriate
Assist with laundry, bed making, and routine household organization
Support shopping, errands, and transportation as outlined in the Plan of Care
Provide companionship, social interaction, and behavioral support activities as directed
Use household equipment and supplies safely and appropriately
Maintain written logs and receipts for patient funds used for care-related purchases
Observe, document, and promptly report changes in the patient’s condition or environment to the Supervisor
Accurately document services provided in accordance with agency and DOH requirements
Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and agency operations
Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements
At least one (1) year of homemaker experience or equivalent life experience as a homemaker or caregiver
Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol criminal background check
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and remain calm under stress
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation or access to public transportation
Current automobile insurance and clean driving record if driving is required
CNA, Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR), or ability to meet agency requirements for a personal care worker (preferred)
