We're looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) for an immediate travel opening in Tukwila, WA.
The right RN should have 1 year of experience in Hospice or end-of-life care. Read below for more requirements.
As an RN in Hospice care, you will provide compassionate nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses, focusing on symptom management, comfort, and quality of life. You will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary hospice team to support patients and their families through the end-of-life journey.
As an RN, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans focused on comfort and symptom relief
- Administer medications and treatments to manage pain and other symptoms
- Monitor patient condition and adjust care plans accordingly
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families about disease progression and care options
- Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other hospice team members
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient status
- Advocate for patient wishes and advance care planning
- Maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients and families
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in bereavement support and family counseling as needed
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as an RN in a Hospice setting. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification and be eligible for State licensure. Additional certifications may be required.
RNs in hospice care must be empathetic, patient-focused, and skilled at providing holistic care that respects patient dignity and cultural preferences.
