Phlebotomist

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at Good Samaritan in Portland, OR. Labcorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, helping healthcare providers, researchers, and patients make informed decisions that advance care. Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives.

Work Schedule: Rotating Schedule 10:00PM - 7:30AM, Thursday-Saturday and Sunday-Wednesday followed by a week off.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of phlebotomy experience
  • 2 or more years of inpatient phlebotomy experience
  • 6 or more months of direct patient care

Additional Job Standards:

  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work in a hospital setting. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
