Job description

Administrator

Join us in making a difference at Home of Guiding Hands as we improve the quality of life for people with special needs. The Administrator (CCL) plays a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of our residential group homes while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we serve.

This position is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating resident services and schedules, ensuring compliance with Community Care Licensing standards, managing program quality, and building positive relationships with families, day programs, schools, and community partners. The Administrator also supports the development and implementation of individualized service plans while creating a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment for residents.

This is more than an operations role, it's an opportunity to lead with compassion, advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, and make a lasting impact on both residents and staff. If you are organized, patient, collaborative, and passionate about serving the IDD community, we encourage you to apply.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Resident & Program Oversight
  • Coordinate resident services including schedules, assessments, staffing, and individualized service plans.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and revise residential programs as needed.
  • Ensure quality care, resident rights, and compliance with agency policies and licensing regulations.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, day programs, consultants, and community agencies.
  • Coordinate physician appointments and ensure residents' needs are consistently met.
  • Provide leadership during licensing surveys and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support crisis intervention and problem-solving as needed.

Leadership & Staff Development

Provide direct supervision, coaching, and ongoing training to residential staff. Evaluate staff performance and support professional development. Ensure staffing schedules are maintained and operational needs are met. Build positive working relationships with staff while fostering accountability and teamwork.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage department budgets and explain variances as needed.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, staffing requests, transportation logs, and medication-related paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Monitor department timesheets and maintain house operations, supplies, and vehicle needs.
  • Attend and participate in agency meetings and trainings as required.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required; Group Home Administrator Certificate required.
  • At least two years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing standards, HIPAA guidelines, and resident rights.
  • Ability to multitask, manage staff, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification required (HGH will provide and pay for this)
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to safely operate agency vehicles.

Our Values:

Innovation Collaboration Accountability Respect Empathy
