Job descriptionUltrasound Technician Ultrasound Technician Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of ultrasound procedures, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients across different age groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ultrasound equipment and techniques, as well as excellent patient care and communication skills. As an Ultrasound Technician, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality images, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological studies. Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety. Acquire and analyze images, providing preliminary reports to radiologists. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Perform portable ultrasound exams as needed. Required Qualifications Four years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician. Active Sonography license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI). License can be either permanent or temporary. Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in both Abdomen and OB/GYN. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Experience with Epic charting system. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Sonography. Travel experience. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in performing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB ultrasounds. Expertise in abdominal, renal, thyroid, and transvaginal ultrasound imaging. Ability to perform ultrasound-guided biopsies/fine needle aspirations, cyst aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. Knowledge of fetal anatomical surveys, bone lengths, amniotic fluid index, and umbilical cord Doppler. Experience with ultrasound equipment from GE and Siemens. Competent in identifying and assessing various anatomical structures including the Abdominal Aorta, Appendix, Biliary Tract, Bladder, Cerebellum, Ventricles, Diaphragm, Gallbladder, Heart, Kidneys, Liver, Ovaries, Pancreas, Placenta, Spleen, Testicles/Scrotum, Thyroid, Uterus. Ability to work with patients of all age groups (Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion for patients and their families. Proficient in the use of PACS. Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper use of PPE.
