divh2Hospital Laboratory Director/h2pThe Hospital Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of clinical laboratory services. This role ensures high-quality, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations that support patient care and organizational goals./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliDirect laboratory operations, programs, and activities to meet organizational objectives and regulatory requirements while fostering innovation and continuous improvement./liliEnsure appropriate staffing levels through effective recruitment, onboarding, competency assessment, training, performance evaluation, and performance management./liliProvide leadership, coaching, and professional development to laboratory staff; model high standards of professionalism and performance./liliDevelop and execute departmental strategies focused on service excellence, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and team engagement./liliProactively gather and incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders to improve laboratory services and care delivery./liliOversee laboratory financial operations, including monitoring resource utilization, identifying variances, managing budgets, and preparing monthly operational reports./liliEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, including College of American Pathologists, The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services, Food and Drug Administration, and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements./liliDevelop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies and procedures, ensuring annual review and updates./liliManage vendor relationships and laboratory supply contracts in collaboration with supply chain partners./liliEstablish and maintain effective communication plans to ensure staff are informed and engaged; encourage open dialogue and staff input./liliDelegate responsibilities appropriately in accordance with regulatory guidelines and operational needs./liliMonitor staff performance and operational metrics; provide guidance, coaching, retraining, and development opportunities to ensure adherence to policies and operational excellence./li/ulpQualifications/pulliBachelors degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (required)./liliMasters degree (preferred)./liliNational certification as a Medical Technologist (required)./liliState licensure where applicable (required in states with licensure regulations)./liliMinimum of three (3) years of progressive laboratory management experience in complex clinical laboratory operations./liliDemonstrated leadership experience required./liliHospital-based clinical laboratory experience preferred./liliMust meet applicable vaccination requirements in accordance with local, state, and/or federal regulations, unless an approved exemption applies./li/ul/div
