Job description

The Department of OB/GYN is currently seeking full-time dedicated staff members to serve as Ob/Gyn Hospitalists at our maternity hospitals, located in the suburbs of Cleveland (East, West, and South). The Department of OB/GYN within the Obstetrics & Gynecology Institute (OGI) at the Cleveland Clinic is a nationally recognized academic program with a unique residency program and multiple fellowships. Our primary maternity units at Fairview & Hillcrest Hospitals have busy obstetrical services, with 4300 -5500 deliveries annually. These hospitals provide level IV maternal level care and level III neonatal care.

The Ob/Gyn Hospitalist is a critical part of our group practice model and oversees perinatal safety at the birthing center with responsibility over both quality and safety. The Ob/Gyn Hospitalist functions as the team lead for the provider group within labor and delivery. Our highly integrated and supportive obstetric team consists of Ob/Gyn Hospitalist, OB/GYN Specialists, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, and Residents. The Ob/Gyn Hospitalist role involves managing the obstetric unit, participating in labor management, obstetric triage and support of maternal fetal medicine service. They provide support and consultation to midwifery and Family Medicine services. And, participate in gynecological coverage.

This position offers a competitive salary, an unparalleled comprehensive benefit package and endless opportunities for professional growth and development only limited by the candidate's imagination. The Ob/Gyn Hospitalist is afforded an excellent work-life balance with a clinical schedule based on an average 40hr work week.

The successful candidate should be board eligible/certified and preferably have experience in a busy obstetrical practice. This position balances clinical and academic responsibilities, including supervision of the OB/GYN Hospitalist Fellows, OB/GYN residents and medical students, along with the potential for faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

Those interested should submit a cover letter and CV addressed to:

Suchetha Kshettry, MD, MBA, FACOG

Interim Chair, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
