M&R Mechanical Services is a leading HVAC contractor located in Milford, CT. We have been serving greater New Haven and Fairfield Counties since 1959. We are looking for an experienced commercial HVAC Sales professional to join our rapidly growing team. Our firm is professional, fast-paced and customer-centric. As a Commercial HVAC Estimator , you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and proposals for HVAC system installations, repairs, and upgrades for commercial buildings. You will work closely with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure that projects are accurately priced and aligned with client expectations. This role requires a solid understanding of HVAC systems, construction processes, and industry standards.. The ideal candidate will also have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. CT License preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and required materials.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC systems, including equipment, labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure that estimates reflect project requirements and timelines.
• Perform take-offs, pricing, and bid preparation for HVAC projects, from initial planning stages to final proposal submission.
• Provide clients with detailed proposals and bid documents, addressing questions and providing any necessary clarification
• Review and assess project bids to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards and project specifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure cost-effective and compliant solutions.
• Assist with post-bid activities, including change orders and contract negotiations, as needed.
• Provide ongoing support to project teams during the construction phase to ensure projects stay within budget.

Qualifications :

Experience : 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC estimator (preferred) in the commercial sector, with a proven track record of preparing accurate estimates for large-scale projects.

Knowledge : Strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction terminology, and project estimating techniques.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in HVAC design software, estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Detail-Oriented : Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Education : A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred but not required.

Certifications : Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, ASHRAE) are a plus.
