Sherwood South Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is hiring an experienced, Kennel Attendant to join our INCREDIBLE team!

At Sherwood South Animal Hospital Emergency & Critical Care, we offer primary, emergency, urgent care, boarding, bathing and dentistry for dogs and cats in the greater Baton Rouge area including east and west Baton Rouge Parish, Zachary, Denham Springs, Central and Prairieville.

Whether you’re here for an emergency, to visit your veterinarian for a wellness check or preventative medicine or are dropping our pet off for our comfortable luxury boarding resort or pet spa, know you’ll experience the Sherwood South Animal Hospital difference we provide for pet owners in the Baton Rouge area.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Has experience working as a kennel technician
• Experience handling or caring for dogs and cats in a professional or volunteer setting.
• Ability to administer oral and topical medications to animals.
• Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong attention to detail for monitoring animal health and maintaining accurate electronic records.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking dogs frequently and standing for long periods.
• Willingness to assist with cleaning and sanitation duties.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across different departments (boarding, salon, veterinary).
• Basic computer skills for electronic record-keeping.

Role Responsibilities:

Individuals in this role work in our boarding and salon departments and perform such duties as:

• Feeding, medicating, and walking our furry guests (dogs and cats).
• Offering boarding guests emotional support and love while their owners are out of town.
• Maintaining clean and sanitized conditions so that our furry guests remain healthy and comfortable during their stay.
• Giving baths and doing nail trims.
• Keeping accurate electronic records that detail a guest’s eating habits, eliminations, appetite, change in behavior, etc.
• Collaborating with all departments at The PARC and helping care for veterinary patients as directed.
