Description

Responsibilities:

• Assist with circulation services and staff circulation desk as needed. Support end-user use of library facilities & resources: apply library policies and regulations; answer questions and resolve issues for patrons in person or by phone, email, chat, etc., including ready-reference, and locating & accessing information resources.

• Monitor library systems and library- email accounts throughout the day; promptly complete associated tasks or appropriately refer inquiries to other individuals or departments.

• Prepare new books. Identify, troubleshoot, and report problems with the physical state or bibliographic records and catalog display of library materials, and follow up with appropriate individuals or departments. Regularly check for delayed delivery of items, report problems, and follow up with appropriate individuals or departments.

• As requested by supervisor: occasionally assist with student assistant management and coverage; attend all relevant library meetings; and collect, record, update, verify, and analyze library statistics and produce reports and other special projects.

• Maintain course reserves. At Dental library, maintain the journal collection and prepare journals for binding.

• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve or report facilities, equipment, library systems, and technology problems to appropriate parties in a timely manner, and follow up until the issues are resolved.

• Maintain and order supplies.

• Participate in document delivery function.

• Manage new book display. Create clear and attractive signs, posters, and fliers for library services and facilities.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Demonstrated skills in working with bibliographic records developed through a combination of experience and training. Actual experience in bibliographic work and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail and dependability.
