Job Description
The Counsel Support Associate provides administrative support to Client Legal Services Attorneys within an insurance defense environment. Working under general attorney supervision, this role supports the day-to-day management of civil litigation matters by entering and maintaining case information and handling internal and external communications. This position is well suited for individuals with foundational administrative or legal exposure who are adaptable, eager to learn, and thrive in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties : Perform mail handling, scanning, filing, and routing of documents (both physical and electronic), supporting both in-office and remote workflows, and ensuring information is properly documented and accessible.
- Compliance & Accuracy : Monitor and maintain data accuracy and compliance within Team Connect and other legal systems.
- Problem Solving & Judgment : Make basic decisions within established procedures, escalate issues as appropriate, and demonstrate a willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and learn from feedback.
- Team Collaboration : Work effectively within a large, collaborative legal team and contribute positively to shared goals. May assist with training others on immediate work group functions.
- This role requires in-office attendance 3-4 days per week at the Merchandise Mart office in Chicago, IL to support mail processing, collaboration, and other in-person responsibilities.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 19.76 - 30.33 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
