Job Description
Purpose of the job: Manage and coordinate maintenance and installation of production equipment, material handling, building system equipment, and building/grounds. Manage preventive maintenance program for production equipment.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Manage the maintenance of (3) production departments, consisting of: (1) An offset converting department with a (7) color offset printing press with a cutting and scoring operation. (2) A flexographic converting department with (6) flexo printing presses. (3) A sealing department with (7) flame sealers with auxiliary components such as computerized robotic palletizing. This includes the p.m. schedule for maintenance and knife room.
2. Responsible for all repairs, modifications and installation of in-house production equipment and associated equipment that equals the process in a safe and productive manner.
3. Support for production departments and other supervision.
4. Supervise and assist in parts and other purchasing.
5. Ensure that all requirements of SQF Code are being administered and adhered to.
6. Manage all maintenance and storeroom clerk personnel usually (20) plus people.
7. Involvement in preparing for capital spending and budgets, identifying new equipment, responsible for bidding and contracting of projects by outside contractors.
8. Responsible for yearly service agreement, coordinate training for this position and personnel that report to this position.
9. Manage security and fire protection system, administer computerized telephone system.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. High school diploma minimum
2. 5 years of work experience in mechanical, building, electrical or electronic fields
3. 3 years of experience in plant operations
4. 2 years in electrical and mechanical tech school desired
