Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining equipment in a safe, efficient, and timely manner and performing a variety of skilled maintenance and operations activities.
Position Responsibilities
Plan and schedule for the maintenance mechanics. (Preventative maintenance (PM) and work orders)
Review outgoing work orders to ensure they are ready to schedule requiring material, task list, equipment downtime, etc.
Create and update maintenance procedures based on feedback
Collaborate with production on when to execute maintenance work
Assist the Manager in logging / tracking temporary repairs. Generate follow-up work orders in SAP
Assist in creating purchase requisitions for parts and services in SAP
Assist in creating blanket purchase orders annually or as needed
Assist the leads in planning and scheduling PM and work order assignments
Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance plans
Assist Inventory Coordinators in conducting cycle counts, inventories, and obsolete parts surveys as directed
Responsible for maintaining ofi’s commitment on providing quality products and services with an emphasis on Employee Safety, Food Safety, and Integrity
Maintain complete and organized files. Including, but not limited to proper maintenance document control
Submit required reports accurately and on time
Manage departmental assignments ensuring all items are completed on time
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work area
Maintain appropriate parts / chemical inventories to minimize disruption and delays when repairs are needed
Attend and participate in company committees, such as Safety Committee
Maintain satisfactory attendance including timeliness
Demonstrate teamwork
Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate + three (3) years of manufacturing receiving experience. Food manufacturing experience is preferred
Proficient in all Microsoft 365 software required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, are required
Bilingual, English and Spanish, are strongly preferred
Ability to work any flexible schedules, overtime, and weekends is required
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Knowledge and / or understanding of the following programs and regulations pertaining to a food processing plant :
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
Food Safety
HACCP
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions, and competing priorities.
Must possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Required to comply with Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Ability to work well with others
Required to stand and / or walk up to 100% of the workday
Ability to work in industrial conditions; hot, cold, wet…etc.
Ability to climb stairs and work on elevated areas to perform clean-up duties
Ability to perform repetitive hand movement and work under industrial conditions
Ability to properly lift and carry up to thirty (30) lbs. in a repetitive motion
Ability to work well under pressure with competing demands in a team environment is required
Exemplary vendor management skills
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
Strong analytical and written communication skills
Ability to obtain a forklift certification
Ability to effectively work in a team environment and interact with all levels of internal and external team members with limited supervision
Commitment to complete work within established time parameters and within budget while flexible enough to meet special project deadlines as required
The pay for this role in the state of CA is $26.53 / hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
