  • Participate in meetings with the Air Force Dosimetry Center (AFDC) regarding issuance, shipment, distribution, use, return, processing, and recordkeeping associated with optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters (OSLs).
  • Support field activities in the use of OSLs and assist with all administrative aspects of managing the DTRA Dosimetry Program.
  • Coordinate the distribution, return, and calibration of electronic personal dosimeters (EPDs) to field activities.
  • Assist in distribution, posting, and return of neutron area monitoring devices.

Radiation Safety and Health Physics Support:

  • Under the guidance of ESOH government health physics staff:
  • Apply principles, practices, and techniques of health physics and radiation safety.
  • Assist in development and implementation of radiation safety program policies and procedures.
  • Support the performance of radiation and contamination surveys.
  • Assist in conducting radiation safety training for employees.
  • Maintain and review program records, including leak tests, source inventories, training documentation, instrument calibration, and radioactive material shipping and transportation records.
  • Participate in investigations of radiological incidents and development of corrective actions.
  • Support radiation safety and regulatory compliance audits.

Collaboration and Program Support:

  • Collaborate with health and safety professionals to promote a safe working environment.
  • Support ESOH marketing initiatives and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Provide general programmatic and administrative support to ensure effective and compliant radiological operations.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural science or engineering that includes at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, calculus, or a related field.

OR

OR

  • Certification as a Health Physicist by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) or certification as a Radiation Protection Technologist by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT).

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of one to four (1–4) years of experience in health physics, radiation safety, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with radiation protection principles, dosimetry programs, and radiological safety procedures.
  • Experience supporting radiological surveys, recordkeeping, or compliance activities is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
