Grade: 11
Salary: $23.61-$28.20
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Usability Tester Position. We are seeking a detail-oriented Usability Tester to evaluate Center for Practice Innovation (CPI) e-learning modules across multiple browsers and systems. This position is fully remote and requires access to both a Mac and a PC. The role is hourly and assigned on an as-needed basis.
The Usability Tester will help ensure that each course functions correctly within our learning management system (LMS), meets usability standards, and provides accurate learner experience from launch to completion. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage short-notice assignments, communicate findings clearly, and complete testing tasks within defined timelines. This is paid hourly and fully remote; however, the incumbent must reside in New York State or the New York City metro area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct usability testing of e-learning modules on both Mac and PC environments
- Test modules across multiple web browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) to identify platform-specific issues
- Document usability issues clearly, including browser, system, and reproduction details
- Track and record seat time, learner progress, and course completion behavior within the LMS
- Test LMS and SCORM-based course functionality, including launch, saving, completion, and certificate behavior
- Complete assigned testing tasks within established timelines, including short-turnaround requests
- Maintain availability to accept short notice testing assignments and ensure reliable internet access for remote work
- Perform other related duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum (2) years of administrative or coordination experience, including documentation and task tracking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including (1) year of experience testing e-learning modules, online training, or web-based applications
