The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a continuous improvement mindset, committed to reducing waste, improving throughput, and maintaining a high level of quality and safety across the plant. A key focus of the role is to meet or exceed customer delivery timelines while controlling costs and maximizing resource utilization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Drive the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), including efficiency, cycle time, cost, sales, on-time delivery and competitive lead time.
Develop and execute production plans that align with customer demand and delivery schedules. Manage the production planner to ensure accurate scheduling, material availability, and on-time delivery.
Continuously monitor and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Manage equipment utilization and maintenance to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
Collaborate closely with Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure timely availability of materials and adherence to quality standards.
Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste, streamline operations, and boost throughput.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production delays or inefficiencies.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Mentor and develop frontline leaders and production staff to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Manage staffing levels, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee development initiatives. Make hiring and termination decisions in alignment with company policies and operational needs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field; strong relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations with a proven track record of meeting efficiency and delivery targets.
• Strong leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
• Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in using ERP systems and production data for decision-making.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proactive, hands-on management style.
• Experience in high-volume or just-in-time manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Use of analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or similar platforms for data-driven decision-making.
