We are a scientific instrument manufacturer located in Sunnyvale, California, and have a 30-year history of creating solutions to our customers’ technical challenges. Our customer base is global with distributors in Europe and Asia.
We are searching for a Manufacturing Test Technician to become a member of our Manufacturing team. The responsibility of this individual will include product fabrication, inspection, testing, and accurate reporting of test and inspection results. Along with your resume, please submit a letter describing your talents, strengths and career goals.
Responsibilities include
· Facilitating the RMA process—checking-in, tracking, routing through process, and preparing for shipment
· Testing products—scientific instruments—using oscilloscopes and signal generators
· Meeting production schedules
· Performing Quality Assurance measurements and inspection, documenting results
· Building scientific instruments—electronics, electro-mechanical systems, measurement devices
· Analyzing and troubleshooting measurement products, followed by writing reports for customers
· Documenting product records (Device History Records), ensuring the integrity of related data
· Maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with procedures and good housekeeping practices
· Assembling products with small features requiring delicate hand movements and microscope inspection
· Taking safety concerns seriously—following the proper use of equipment, materials, and protective gear
Qualifications
· Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment—
familiar with quality management systems (in an ISO environment) and MRP systems
· Experience assembling products using basic hand and power tools
· Comfortable using a Windows PC and Microsoft Excel
· Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
· Familiarity with oscilloscopes and test equipment—AA degree or equivalent in electronics is a plus
· Hand soldering experience is preferred--circuit board assembly
Personal Traits
· Ability to follow instructions, demonstrating self-sufficiency
· Good organizational and decision-making skills
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination for assembly of components that are often very small
· Preference for teamwork
