Project Manager – Bridge & Marine Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in bridge construction to support complex heavy civil and marine projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from planning through completion, with a focus on safety, schedule, cost control, and quality.
The ideal candidate has experience managing bridge work in active construction environments, including over waterways and roadways, and is comfortable coordinating field operations, subcontractors, engineers, and owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day execution of bridge and marine construction projects
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management
- Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress
- Coordinate closely with superintendents, field crews, and subcontractors
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
- Lead project meetings with owners, designers, and inspectors
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements
- Support preconstruction efforts including means and methods, scheduling, and constructability input
- Manage project closeout documentation and final deliverables
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on bridge construction projects
- Heavy civil and/or marine construction experience required
- Experience with structural concrete, foundations, pile driving, and marine-related work
- Familiarity with DOT or municipal transportation projects preferred
- Strong understanding of cost controls, scheduling, and project documentation
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Equivalent field experience considered
