Description
Marine Emergency Response Supervisor Location: Seattle Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: 6:30am start time, must be open to other shifts as needed Pay: $35-$45 an hour About the Role We are seeking a skilled Marine Emergency Response Supervisor to lead emergency preparedness, response operations, and safety initiatives across marine environments. This role oversees field teams, coordinates with regulatory agencies, and ensures rapid, compliant, and effective responses to environmental, safety, and operational incidents on or near the water. Key Responsibilities Emergency Response Leadership Lead and coordinate response operations for marine spills, vessel incidents, hazardous material releases, and other maritime emergencies. Direct vessel crews, response technicians, contractors, and support personnel during active incidents. clean up oil spills and other marine time remediations Safety & Compliance Ensure all response activities comply with USCG, OSHA, EPA, and local maritime regulations. Maintain required documentation, reports, logs, and incident records. Operational Oversight Oversee equipment readiness including boom, skimmers, PPE, vessels, and response trailers. Coordinate training programs and certifications for response teams. Implement continuous improvement strategies for emergency response plans. Collaboration & Communication Act as the liaison between company leadership, port authorities, agencies, and external partners. Provide clear direction and communication during fast‑moving emergency situations. Support customer service needs related to marine safety and emergency preparedness. Required Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in maritime operations, emergency response, environmental services, or related fields. Strong leadership experience in dynamic operational settings. Working knowledge of marine safety protocols, emergency response techniques, and regulatory frameworks. Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain TWIC if required. Ability to work in outdoor, industrial, and marine environments in varying conditions. Preferred Qualifications 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. (Not Required) ICS experience Understand of ORSO fundamentals Prior environmental response experience. Experience performing spill response, vessel ops, boom deployment, or on‑water environmental work. CPR/First Aid or other emergency certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on vessels, stand for long periods, and operate in harsh marine conditions. Comfortable working around water, machinery, and environmental hazards.
