Wheeler supports the life span of clientele, with a large population representing underserved communities. Interns have an opportunity to provide targeted case-management services, provide individual counseling, family counseling, and learn to facilitate clinical groups as well. The internship opportunity can include experience working with individuals with dual diagnosis, high acuity, substance use disorders, and other social determinants of health. Within the internship experience, interns will also have the opportunity to train and shadow with our clinical team(s) and program leadership to learn a variety of therapeutic modalities, techniques, and approaches. / ppInterns will receive practical hands-on training to learn how to access and utilize the agencys Electronic Health Record, the use and application of the DSM-TR, how to conduct and complete individualized treatment planning, implement evidenced based practices, and will also have the opportunity to learn about resume building and preparation to enter into the clinical workforce. Virtual attendance at the Intern Seminar which is twice a month on Friday from 10am-12pm on Teams (this will count as group supervision) / strong / ppstrong2. Must attend the full in person orientation which consists of 3 eight hour days located at our Bristol location. The dates are 8 / 31 (830-430pm) 9 / 1 and 9 / 2 (9am-5pm) / strong / ppstrong3.
