Job Title: Project Architect – QA/QC Lead (Healthcare Focus)
Job Description
The Project Architect will serve as the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) lead for architectural document production, ensuring that all drawings and specifications are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule. This role requires a licensed architect with extensive experience in healthcare and other complex project types, deep knowledge of architectural standards and construction processes, and the ability to provide strong leadership and technical guidance to production teams. The position emphasizes hands-on involvement with Revit, coordination of construction documents, and the continuous improvement of QA/QC protocols across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve all architectural drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Oversee the entire document production process, from initial setup through final submission, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to established quality benchmarks.
- Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC protocols for all projects, including new construction, additions, and renovations.
- Lead QA/QC efforts for architectural projects by establishing best practices, monitoring compliance, and continuously improving document quality processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams, helping them produce high-quality documents and resolve complex technical issues.
- Coordinate closely with internal design, production, and construction administration teams to ensure alignment and consistency across all project documents.
- Collaborate with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and coordination of design documents and specifications.
- Evaluate candidate and team drawings for precision, clarity, and constructability before formal submission or issue for construction.
- Utilize Revit extensively for document review, coordination, and quality control, ensuring models and drawings meet project and office standards.
- Manage document production for complex projects, particularly in healthcare, laboratory, and educational facilities, ensuring that specialized requirements are addressed.
- Maintain strong construction documentation standards and best practices throughout all phases of design and construction administration.
- Support construction administration efforts by referencing and clarifying construction documents, addressing RFIs, and ensuring documentation remains consistent with field conditions.
Essential Skills
- Licensed Architect with 5–10+ years of professional experience, including substantial responsibility for QA/QC processes on architectural projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction document production for complex projects, particularly in healthcare, medical centers, and laboratories, with exposure to educational projects considered relevant.
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation standards, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with construction documents, specifications, construction administration, and construction drawings.
- Proven expertise in quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) for architectural documentation.
- Deep understanding of architectural standards, document coordination, and construction processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work on-site in New York City, Monday through Friday.
- Proficiency in architecture and design workflows, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment
- The role is based in a growing New York City office of approximately 12 professionals, offering a close-knit, collaborative team environment.
- The team currently operates out of a WeWork space while a dedicated office is being built out, providing a modern, flexible workspace during this transition.
- This is an in-office position, with work conducted on-site five days per week.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
