Job Description
Oracle Health is on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Network Operations & Incident Response. This pivotal role is essential in enhancing network engineering capabilities within Oracle Health and the broader Oracle Industries ecosystem. Following our recent acquisition of Cerner, you will be key in harmonizing operational processes, bridging team cultures, and delivering reliable, secure, and compliant network services to both commercial and government healthcare customers. We are looking for a leader who can drive change, foster trust, and promote the adoption of best practices, innovative automation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
This leadership role requires adept decision-making in a complex, global, and highly regulated environment. You will empower our engineering teams by offering clear priorities, professional development opportunities, and support. As the central figure in integrating new teams and legacy organizations, you will ensure consistent network operations, compliance, and quality delivery across Oracle Industries Global Industry Units (GIUs).
Your responsibilities will include setting operational directions, leading cultural and tech integration, and driving measurable improvements. You'll cultivate strong relationships with team members at all levels, fostering collaboration in challenging cross-functional contexts, while balancing business needs and personnel growth. Success is measured by advancements in operational maturity, enhanced incident response, and unified performance across Oracle's leading healthcare and enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a diverse, high-performing network operations and incident response engineering team for both commercial and government healthcare infrastructures.
Design and implement integration strategies post-M&A, aligning processes and technical standards from legacy and acquired entities.
Oversee daily operational integrity of network services in hybrid environments including on-premises, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and AWS while ensuring high performance, availability, and compliance with regulations like FedRAMP and HIPAA.
Encourage a culture of engineering excellence and curiosity, promoting experimentation and iterative development.
Champion the use of automation frameworks such as Python and Ansible to minimize manual efforts and enhance incident response times.
Establish best practices for monitoring network performance, proactive issue detection, root cause analysis, and preventing recurring incidents.
Manage executive- and customer-facing escalations with calm, data-driven leadership during high-pressure incidents.
Protect teams from unnecessary escalations to maintain focus on critical projects and operational tasks.
Work collaboratively with leaders across Oracle Health, Cerner, and other Oracle Industries GIUs to align priorities and share operational insights.
Engage actively in the post-incident review process, ensuring actionable analysis and implementation of preventative measures to foster a learning environment.
Own operational metrics and reporting, ensuring accountability for SLAs and performance KPIs, and communicate achievements and risks to executive leadership.
Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition to attract and retain elite network engineering talent, building resilient teams.
Foster psychological safety and open communication while demonstrating decisiveness and accountability, particularly in ambiguous situations.
Guide your team through the complexities of business and regulatory requirements while adapting to new technologies and customer needs.
Lead training and knowledge transfer initiatives to ensure teams are equipped to manage Oracle's global, mission-critical networks effectively.
Identify and drive the adoption of emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices in cloud, networking, automation, and operational management.
